Where we live

Well, we've been here approximately 2 weeks and it's time to explain exactly where we are. We have a three bedroom apartment on the fourth floor at 177 Sepulveda. this is in a part of the neighborhood called Eixample. You can recognize it on the map by the large blocks that are cut off at the corners. They also have large central courtyards, and our bedrooms face the central courtyards to avoid street noise, which continues well into the evening. I should add that our apartment is well insulated so that we hear very little.

We are approximately half a block from the old city. This is made up of very narrow streets and old buildings. The old city adjacent to us is called Raval. It is sort of a Bohemian area with lots of university students and nightclubs. Further to the east is the touristy old city. It is filled with many shops and restaurants. We are also adjacent to a subway stop and the Mediterranean is approximately 1.4 kilometers to the southeast. To the south is Montjuic, a park with various museums and Olympic facilities.

It is a big city, with lots to discover, we are enjoying it.
